Restaurants in Daylesford
Where we’d book, from a once-in-a-while dinner to the best pizza in town.
Eating out in Daylesford
For a small country town, Daylesford eats remarkably well. There are special-occasion dining rooms, an upmarket wine bar with small dishes that change often and country pubs that take their food seriously. Most of it is within a few minutes’ walk of Vincent Street, with more in Hepburn Springs and Trentham a short drive away.
Our advice: book ahead for Friday and Saturday nights, and a long way ahead for the places everyone talks about.
Something special
At the pub
Don’t overlook the pubs. Both hotels in town do amazing food, and you can eat at the bar with the locals.
A long lunch
If you only do one long lunch, make it Du Fermier in Trentham. It’s hard to get in, so book as early as you can. If it’s full, head to Passing Clouds and have lunch at the winery.
