Delightful cottage with everything you need for two people. Close to the lake and to town makes it easy to go for a hike, some shopping or a meal. We went on a holiday weekend, recommend booking restaurants in advance.

Would highly recommend this accommodation! The house was super clean, super neat and overall felt so comfortable. It exceeded in expectations we had I would definitely revisit. Location wise was great and it was so close to the main strip.

Really nice place to stay, looking out to a beautiful view and easily walkable to the lake and centre of town. Like a previous review mentioned, they really need to put a lamp in the living room — a single light switch controls 6 down lights and 2 pendant lights, which are incredibly bright with no middle ground! We moved a bedroom lamp to the loungeroom. Some light switches are also playing up (maybe the kitchen exhaust fan too?) — if the owners got a sparky around for a day they could take this place from a 9/10 to a 10/10. Other thing to note is the bedroom has 2 gorgeous feature windows, but they don’t have coverings. They face a court so it’s fairly private, but some light does come in which might impact sensitive sleepers. All the other curtains are excellent; I would love to see coverings tastefully added to these leadlight windows to improve sleeping conditions. Overall do recommend staying here, it is very close to being perfect.

We had a wonderful stay at Smittys Cottage. The cottage is really private with a beautiful big deck and stunning garden.
Super close to Daylesford lake and a short walk to the main strip.
The cottage itself was beautiful, very cosy and immaculate.
Would definitely stay again 🙂

We had such a lovely stay over the long weekend. The location was absolutely perfect with the town and lake just a few minutes walk away, and the house was incredibly clean and tidy when we got there. Perfect location just a short stroll from the heart of Daylesford. The cottage was spotless, beautifully maintained and exceptionally clean. The garden was our favourite part; so peaceful, and clearly cared for with love. A wonderful spot for a relaxing weekend getaway. If we had to offer one small piece of feedback, it would be to add blinds to the two small bedroom windows for a bit more light control. Otherwise, everything was wonderful! Highly recommend!

This was the most beautiful place to stay in Daylesford. The attention to detail was phenomenal, with music playing and heating on arrival to ensure a cosy warm entrance to the cottage in the middle of winter. The cottage was incredibly styled and clean. Huge thanks to the owners for such a lovely place to stay and easy check-in. Will definitely be back!

My time at the Smitty Cottage is a lifelong memory I will never forget.
It was peaceful, serene, in an INCREDIBLE location, and had so much personality and warmth. The hosts were so lovely and accomodating to early/late checkins and have been so friendly to speak to.
Have already recommended this place to many friends and family for a cosy, peaceful getaway, definitely 10/10, can’t wait to come back already!

We had a wonderful few days at the Smitty cottage. Very comfortable location, within easy walking distance of the lake as well as Main Street with shops, cafes galore (Tonna’s store just around the corner was a great local find for fresh fruits, vegetables and other yummy bits!) The deck was excellent to sit out on and relax whilst watching the sunset and we also loved the huge bath. Thoroughly recommend. Hope to return!

This accommodation exceeded all expectations and was even better than advertised! The space was incredibly comfortable, and the beautiful outdoor area with stunning views made it a perfect retreat. Despite being a little cottage, it certainly filled big shoes with its exceptional interior design and attention to detail. The bathroom was amazing, with a spa-like feel, and the cozy fireplace added to the charm. The garden was peaceful and inviting, perfect for unwinding. Even though the cottage is small, it never felt cramped – it had everything we needed and more. Plus, it’s just a short walk to the lake, making the location ideal. Massive thanks to the team at Discover Daylesford. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary weekend away in the cottage and felt right at home. Communication from the team was great as we had to reschedule from our original dates, and the cottage was A-grade. Easy auto-locking front door to save hassle on your way out each day and warm heating which was a plus for the cold mornings and nights. Will definitely look to return ASAP.
