Great little spot out in nature. Little to no reception which is great if you want to get away from everything. Ample firewood supplied and abundance all around you. Really enjoyed our stay at the lock shack. Would definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic time here. The owners have thought of every little detail. Binoculars, umbrellas, gumboots, marshmallow roasting forks, and all the little things were provided and so easy to find! They even had the fire set up for us with kindling ready to go. Hope to return soon.

We loved the bush environment and the shack itself was cosy.
However we were extremely uncomfortable and put off by a large black shipping container. It had large glass sliding doors with one way mirrored glass aiming directly onto the deck where the outdoor bath was located.
There were seats set up outside the container which made us think there were people staying there or had stayed there. Due to this, unfortunately we would never stay there again. The outdoor bath photos on the listing hide the container behind which is only about 30 metres away.

Such a beautiful digital detox here at The Love Shack. Misty mornings and moonlit baths, birdsong surrounding me and quiet time to myself. Highly recommend for anyone needing to escape to the bush

Cute little cabin in a secluded area, but short drive to great little towns.
It was freezing cold and rainy while we were there but the combo of the split system and fire made a warm cozy space for reading, playing games and drinking wine.
Host was responsive when needed!

Beautiful quiet stay and a much needed switch off from TV and devices. Outdoor hot tub was heavenly, even during the cold and rain! Loved it!

Quaint, secluded and serenity!

If you are after a digital detox and a place to recharge the batteries, this is it.

Thoroughly enjoyed taking a bath under the stars on the deck every night and listening to the native wildlife, which created an idyllic ambiance you won’t get in the city.

The team were very responsive and provided clear instructions throughout our stay.

Would highly recommend and would stay again.

A perfect secluded cabin that is just a few minutes from Daylesford. the cabin was both spacious and cosy. It was very warm inside.

on our last night there a group of 10 kangaroos started grazing just outside the cabins window. It was a beautiful experience.

The Love Shack was such a beautiful, peaceful, private escape. I went with my Partner who had been away overseas for a while, and we needed some time together, just us two. It had everything a couple could need. The quiet, slow paced environment was everything one could want. I LOVED being in nature, fire going, baths had outside, even despite the chilly weather.

A beautiful little cabin. Exactly what we needed for a digital detox surrounded by nature. The cabin was clean and tidy and overall it was very comfortable.

A good enclosed space for the dogs. It had all the essential amenities needed for the three nights, I didn’t have to leave.

The only (little) issue was there was no cork screw for my wine and no kitchen cloth to wipe down benches and help clean dishes. I luckily brought paper towel with me.

I had a great stay and would visit again.

We loved our stay at the Love Shack! The house was beautiful and so private, we loved everything about it, from the bath to the fire pit! Could not recommend it enough!!

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful pet-friendly cabin! Surrounded by kangaroos and birds, it felt like a peaceful escape into nature. The outdoor bath was such a special treat — soaking under the sky with the sounds of the forest around us was just magical.
But the highlight for me as a dog mum? The thoughtful touch of a welcome basket just for my pup — filled with toys, bowls, poop bags, and even a lead! It’s rare to find places that treat dogs like true guests, and this one absolutely did.
Grateful for such a warm, dog-loving experience. My dog is my world, and it means everything to feel that’s understood. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a cozy, nature-filled getaway with their furry best friend.

Fantastic retreat to disconnect from busy work lives and relax in nature. Accomodation exactly as described and so gorgeous! Extra points for the small details such as dog beds for all sizes of pupper and bird feed for the lots of various birds that visit :).

I had an amazing stay at the love shack. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, it’s picture perfect like it’s been taken right out of a movie set.
The surroundings were amazing with the bush surrounding you and animals that come up close like the kangaroos and birds. I would definitely recommend the love shack to anyone who wants to detox from the hustle and bustle and have a peaceful time away.

We had a lovely stay here in Wheatsheaf. A private and peaceful setting with lots of thoughtful touches that made both us and our pup feel right at home. Wallabies and birds coming to visit too! We’ll definitely be back

What a beautiful little Shack, loved every minute of our stay, very private, bush surroundings. Has everything you need, no WiFi so you can ” switch off” and unwind . Few minutes out of the Daylesford Township. The secure decking is perfect for your fur babies to play , not to mention the outside bath on the decking, perfect for a night of star gazing. Highly recommend The Love Shack for a romantic weekend getaway.

An amazing place for a intimate getaway

Such a peaceful place to stay. Having the fire on and listening to the birds, great get away from the city and great that I could take my dog!

Words cannot describe how beautiful this accommodation is, even better in person, has to be my favourite airbnb so far.
Owners ensured everything was accessible and provided helpful info about the shack including things to do in Daylesford. Also ensured everything most people forget to bring are there: dog bags, leash, toys, puzzles, cooking basics, fire wood, shampoo and conditioner.

They really went above and beyond, even providing bird seeds and bath salts!

Absolutely loved the outdoor bath, perfect temperature for a freezing cold night looking up at the milkway above.

Amazing little place to get away from it all, the dogs had a wonderful time exploring & the bed was INSANELY comfortable, definitely will be back!

Our stay away in the ‘Love Shack’ was a wonderful experience for my partners’ 30th and as of our first night there, my fiancé!
The place was tidy and clean, bed beautifully made with towels out. The little things made us appreciate the place, such as a pre-set up fire place, dog toys & mat ready for the furbabies and a umbrella, torch and shopping bag if needed. Even though we had packed these things, it was appreciative that was taken into account. The lockable verandah section was handy too to throw the dogs outside for dinner without fear they will run off with a kangaroo!
Nearly hit three kangaroos on the roads, be careful when driving in the area.
Loved the experience and the place will hold a special place to us now after she said yes!

The location was absolutely beautiful with plenty of wildlife around.
No phone service so it was great to be able to switch off from the outside world for a few days.

We have such a lovely stay at the love shack! Definitely feel refreshed after our short stay there. It’s very close to D — The Love Shack is super clean and comfortable! They provide every basic things that you can think of and make it every convinient to stay there.

It is surrounded by nature and you can hear the birds chirping all day. Such a great place to stay when you have had enough of working and busy city life.

No reception! Which is an amazing thing to stay away from gadget.

We had an absolutely glorious week. Everything we needed, besides a microwave but we managed.
Will definitely be back

The Love Shack was amazing, from being pet friendly, to the christmas decors, the indoor fireplace & outside tub! The only thing that was lacking is a back up plan for power outage, given the water supply needs pump to work, and toilet is a flush system. No candles/battery operated lamp as well. We saw in the manual booklet provided an emergency generator pamphlet- we were really hoping that there was an emergency generator but there was none. Discover Daylesford told us to buy water in Coles & they would reimburse it to us. We know that the power outage is an unforeseen circumstance, but at least have a back up plan if this thing happens. Good thing we have our own handy lamp, candles and we conserved our own water supply during our last night. And oh, we also bought bags of firewood to warm us up as there is only 3 pieces of small logs of wood provided, and it’s pouring outside to gather wood in the forest. We just really made the most of what we have on our Christmas eve. 🤎

Beautiful, peaceful stay. Perfect for a weekend away to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city living. A stone throw away from Daylesford town centre whilst being perfectly secluded.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the love shack. The cabin had everything we needed.

It was remote and a good digital detox.

Unfortunately the water didn’t heat up enough for us to enjoy the outdoor bath tub during our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. Very secluded and private and the surrounding area was beautiful. Still very easy to get into the nearby towns as well.

great place, some firewood is provided but understandably you don’t have access to the entire stash. There is, however, plenty about to forage so I would bring an axe next time and recommend anyone else does the same. Really the only gripe we had for the whole weekend, it’s a beautiful, well thought out, warm, comfortable place to stay.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and were very sad to be heading home after we had an amazing time staying at the love shack. We were able to completely unwind and disconnect from all technology, which we haven’t done in years. We entertained ourselves with board games provided, hot cups of tea and animal watching. The bed was the most comfy bed I had ever slept in. The feel of the love shack was everything we were hoping for it to be. We will be back soon for another visit!!

I really wanted to give this space 5 stars. it was a great space. Very cute, cozy, homely, and warm.
I liked the fact that it’s 100% a digital detox. It really forces you to not worry about anything in your life other than the present moment.
it’s very cutely decorated and really has everything you need for a simple weekend.

The things that let it down were the water issues. This property is off the grid and very eco friendly, so its not as straightforward as you’d hope.
The hot water is run off gas bottles and you may need to switch them over like we did. (this is very simple, with them already being attached. you just need to turn a nozzle.)
But unfortunately, the hot water in the shower and the outside tub was not heating up throughout the stay, and after spending so long trying to work it out, we resorted to using the kitchen sink (which was the only hot water in the place) to fill an eski for the outside tub.
it was a challenge, but we succeeded and were able to enjoy it.

Beautiful place to stay, fire was cosy and the aircon helped when we didn’t have the fire lit. My dog loved it, too!

A pretty good stay but certainly not a standout Air BNB. Maybe we’ve been a little spoilt by other stays (in the same price range). However, I would expect a little bit more like some complementary breakfast snacks or something similar. It really is the little touches that have had us use this app over hotels and this place just seemed to be a little low on those nice touches.

Even showering didn’t feel like it should on a holiday. The water pressure and temp was hard to gauge and we were told that the hot water may run out as it’s limited. I feel like you shouldn’t have to worry about these things when on a little escape.

My only notes is that there is no oven, so if you’re cooking make sure you’re ready for stove top meals only!

Absolutely perfect off the grid getaway surrounded by nothing but nature. It was great sitting out on the deck beneath the stars dinning alfresco. In the mornings we had some animal visitors like wallabies, kangaroos and plenty of feathered friends.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Love Shack. It was so spacious for 2 people, the bed was super comfortable, and it was set up with the nicest touches. The deck was so lovely and we loved walking around the property. Only 10 minutes to Daylesford but to be honest we just wanted to hang out at the log cabin. Can highly recommend and would love to go back. We cooked on the barbecue most of the weekend but the kitchen electric hot plate was also amazing. Thanks for having us we loved it!

It is a great place to get close to wild animals and to relax. Very interesting experience to spend 2 nights in the forest. The place is well decorated and clean. But keep in mind there is no signal so download a few movies before you go 🙂

We LOVED our stay at the Love Shack! What a delightful spot surrounded in Australian nature. We spent many peaceful hours on the expansive deck watching and listening to many many birds.

So many lovely touches to the place, such as the games, magazines and books to entertain us as we were completely off grid. The bed was super comfy and the house had all the amenities we needed for our relaxing getaway. The bath outside was 👌🏼

It was also not too far away from Daylesford for us to pop in for necessities and a meal.

The Love Shack was very tranquil and we had a great time during our stay. It included all the adequate amenities to feel right at home and felt very cosy whilst being very private and secluded. Would highly recommend to others who love nature and enjoy the serenity of the outdoors with their furry four legged family members. Our dogs also definitely enjoyed the place more than us for sure!

We had a wonderful stay. Beautiful and clean cabin surrounded by local wildlife and bush. Dusk and dawn were real highlights as the animals frolicked. Truly a lovely stay – would happily come back.

The Love Shack is an incredible little cabin in a beautiful setting.

The owners have really considered what guests need to make their stay as comfortable as possible and provided it.

The setting is a tranquil woodland clearing with an abundance of wildlife around. No Wifi & phone coverage means you feel cut off from the world for the short time you are at the cabin which was liberating!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Love Shack and loved that we could bring our little Border Collie along for the adventure – again the owners have considered what is needed for dog owners and provided it within the cabin and secure deck area.

We’ll be back again for sure!
