Sailors Falls

A short drive south of Daylesford, Sailors Creek drops about 20 metres into a ferny gully before running on through rock pools into Hepburn Regional Park. A staircase takes you down past the falls, and the 1.5 km Mineral Springs Loop circles back to the picnic area in around 40 minutes. Up top there's a tapped mineral spring, covered picnic tables and step-free interpretive signs. The name is thought to come from sailors who left their ships for the 1850s goldfields, and old water races from that time are still in the bush. Expect plenty of steps on the way back up.
