Bush Cabin Country Escape

2 Guests | Studio | 1 Bathroom

This off-grid cabin is eco-friendly and set in the bushland of Wheatsheaf halfway between Daylesford and Glenlyon. Take an adventure in nature or simply sit by the campfire and gaze up at stars.

Noah’s Hut is cozy, comfortable, double glazed and insulated wood cabin. The cabin has one Queen bed, limited solar power and water tank on site. There is one private external compostable toilet and separate shower. There is limited solar power (enough for phones and laptops) and low flow water for drinking and showering. Gas hot water is available at the hut for guests to enjoy but we ask that guests use all amenities sparingly to ensure supply doesn’t run out during your stay.

Noah’s hut is nestled amongst the gumtrees on 5 acres of native Australian bushland, sharing it’s home with native flora and fauna including koalas, wombats, possums, wallabies, kangaroos and countless bird types. Due to the off-grid nature of this property there are a few things to note before your stay:

This property is best suited to resourceful guests who are familiar with a camping style set-up – lighting fires, swinging an axe and understanding rural courtesies.

The abundant wildlife are used to a peaceful life and because this is their home too we ask that no pets accompany you on your stay at Noah’s Hut.

Solar power and water are not endless so it is important that you are conscious of this throughout your stay and pack appropriately for your off-grid adventure! This may include torches/lanterns, power banks, additional batteries, warm clothes and bottled water.

Mobile/WIFI reception can be poor.

For those not venturing out for meals, outdoor cooking is required and all supplies will need to be brought with you.

Due to the rural setting amongst the dense bushland, it is imperative that fires are extinguished properly using the sand and water provided when leaving the fire unattended and that all rubbish be taken with you when departing.

Standard fire safety rules and restrictions apply and are enforceable by law.

Other Amenities for your convenience: – Basic camp cooking equipment: dutch oven, skillets, plates, cooking utensils, drinking cups, wine glasses, cutlery, timber serving platters, scissors, vegetable peelers, bottle opener, Water jug, Salad bowl, Bluetooth speaker – download your Spotify before you arrive! 2 x hammocks, Fold out table and chairs, Matches & fire lighters, Magazines, USB torch, USB speaker and light.

Nice small space beautifully done. The host was very helpful especially since we couldn’t find the cottage at first. It has no kitchen which allows you to explore the nearby amazing cafes and restaurants 👌 Overall ✔️

As you see in the floor plan, there’s not a lot to this property but it packs everything you might need into the space without compromising where it’s really important. I was glad to see plenty of space in the bedroom and bathroom, while the living space neatly pulled triple-duty as kitchen, dining and living area. It’s everything one or two people might need. I very much appreciated the extra touches of big bath towels, bottled water in the fridge, and information on hand about local attractions. The old style décor was very charming, and the lounge furniture very comfortable. Do note that a very wide car might have trouble with the driveway, and navigation to and within the property does involve a couple of big stairs.
